restaurant, Kora, in the former Robert Donna Bebo space in Crystal City (2250 Crytal Dr). I spoke to Morou at the Best of Washington party and he said that Kora will be ready August 1st. He has agreed to let me in for a “sneak peak.”

- *Now Open*: Columbia Firehouse. The Neighborhood Restaurant Group which also operates Rammy winning, Vermilion, Evening Star Café, Tallula, and Rustico will add another Northern Virginia establishment to its family, while reviving a beloved piece of Alexandria’s history. In the historic building located at 109 St. Asaph that once served as Columbia Steam Fire Engine Company Alexandria’s local fire station, a new neighborood restaurant, Columbia Firehouse, with two distinct dining experiences will be opening in Old Town.
- Andy Shallal has a new literary-themed restaurant just next door to Busboys and Poets, his popular U Street hangout. Eatonville (2121 14th St., NW; 202-332-9672) is inspired by author Zora Neale Hurston and named after her Florida hometown.

- Stir Food Group, which includes Zola and Zola Wine & Kitchen, just opened its Potenza bakery, a tidy shop adjacent to its new Italian restaurant with the same name.

Bakery is open Monday through Friday from 8 to 8; Saturday from 10 to 8; and Sunday from 10 to 6. - Blue Ridge: Barton Seaver and Dynamic Duo Hengst and Rager opened this American restaurant that brings local ingredients from the Blue Ridge region into the city streets.
