- Art and Soul - I have been here for lunch, more than once and have loved everything that I have tried. I think it’s a great option – especially if you want to eat
outdoors. They have a large patio for al fresco dining. My favorite dishes are the Chesapeak Bay Fry which is a plate of fried oysters, clams, calamari, shrimp, okra, with a duo of sauces; the PO’ OYSTER, which is not a sandwich, like most po boys, it’s a plate of fried oysters drizzled with a spicy remoulade on top of romaine. The cesar salad is also very good – I even ate the anchovy. The seasonal smoked rockfish with capers is delish. Their seasoned french fries are some of the best in the biz. They also have a good kids menu that kids will actually eat! Try the mac n’cheese balls. (Loc: 415 New Jersey, Ave. NW; Ph:202.393.7777)

- Central Michel Richard - Not only do I love the very talented Chef de Cuisine, Cedric Maupillier, I think that the food is great! My favorite dishes are the ceviche, which Cedric says is his best dish, and the Asian style Tuna and Salmon Carpaccio (see pic on right). Also the cheese puffs or “gougères” are addicting. For main courses, the sauteed scallops are divine. They’re perfectly cooked – seasoned very simply with salt (but not too much, as Cedric says it’s his favorite ingredient). Their hamburgers are deliciously huge. The Tagliatelle Bolognese is a great pasta dish; however, it’s a very thick meaty sauce, so it’s best to get it to share.
