Bar Pilar: Offering ‘Sides + Pies’ from 14th Street foodie spot Bar Pilar will be available via Chef Justin Bittner who is making sides for groups of two sizes: 5-7 people and 10-15 people; at $26 and $32 respectively. Sides include a Sage, Housemade Sausage and Apple Stuffing, a Broccoli Casserole with blue cheese béchamel and Candied Heirloom Sweet Potatoes. In terms of sweets, Bittner will sell a variety of pies for $28 including Apple Crumb, Bourbon Pecan and Heirloom Pumpkin. People can pre-order any ‘Sides + Pies’ through November 19th by calling 202-265-1751, with pick-up on Thanksgiving Eve, the 21st.
Bayou Bakery: New Orleans-native chef David Guas of Bayou Bakery, Coffee Bar & Eatery in Arlington, Virginia can fill your kitchen with an array of southern fixins’ that are the sides and bites that make Thanksgiving Day hassle-free. For quick nibbles, pick up some Candied Spiced Pecans tossed in house-made Creole seasoning for $12, or grab a pint-sized Mason jar full of Cranberry-Orange Preserves for $15 to serve with Cornbread Muffins, $15 per dozen made from cornmeal ground by George Washington’s gristmill – a Bayou Bakery exclusive! To help round out your meal, choose from a variety of sides starting at $12, like Dirty Rice, Braised Collards or Buttermilk Biscuits – available in petite or full-size, with or without ham. For Thanksgiving Dinner, there are a variety of entrees, sides and desserts to supplement or complete your meal. Patrons can order Murray’s Amish All Natural Turkeys available for $6.50 per pound raw. Round out your table with traditional sides: chestnut stuffing, serves six ($20); sweet potato purée, serves six ($20); cranberry relish, by the quart ($15); giblet gravy, by the quart ($12.50); assorted pies, serves 8-12 ($36). EPIC Smokehouse (1330 S Fern St Arlington, VA) is offering a limited supply of turkey dinners for carryout that will feed up to 10 people. Pick up a 10-12 lb. turkey that can be cooked just the way you like it, either smoked or fried. Turkey dinners cost $70 and includes gravy along with your choice of three out of four homemade sides. Selections include mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, stuffing and creamed corn. If you can’t imagine Thanksgiving without all four items, an extra side can be purchased for an additional $10. Whisked!: If you haven’t ordered Thanksgiving pies don’t worry! You can purchase pies at the Pike Central Holiday Market on Nov. 20, and they will also be dropping off pies on Tuesday morning by 11:00 am to Pleasant Pops in Adams Morgan, for them to sell in the store. The market is at 11806 Rockville Pike, between Old Georgetown and Montrose Roads.
