DC Chefs Celebrate FRESHFARM Markets 15 Year Anniversary: To celebrate their 15 Year Anniversary FRESHFARM Market will host a series of events throughout the month of July. Celebrations will take place throughout DC area restaurants and bars the entire month of July, at all 11 FRESHFARM Markets the week of July 10 – 15, and will culminate with a 15th Anniversary Birthday Bash at the Dupont Circle FRESHFARM Market from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m on Sunday, July 15, which has been proclaimed FRESHFARM Markets Day by Mayor Vincent Gray. Wednesday, July 11:
Annual ‘BEST OF’: Thousands of food enthusiasts will flock to the AT&T Best Of Washington party held annually at the National Building Museum. Enjoy samples from more than 60 of Washington’s best restaurants where they will be serving up their tastiest bites as you sip craft beer and wine. All the restaurants try to outdo each other, so come hungry. Tickets ($125) are available online. 6 PM.
Wednesday Crab Boils at Art and Soul (415 New Jersey Ave., NW), has turned their gorgeous patio into the District’s newest crab boil destination. Every Wednesday at 5:30 p.m., Chef Wes Morton will serve Louisiana-style jumbo crabs, traditional sides, and cold, seasonal beer from Flying Dog Brewery. Enjoy beer and happy hour specials from 4-7pm, with the Crab Boil starting at 5:30 p.m. Get three crabs for $21, six crabs for $40 or twelve crabs for $72. The National Zoo’s annual Brew at the Zoo features more than 40 craft beers to try. General admission tickets are sold out, but VIP tickets—which include tastings from 11 top restaurants, full beer pours, and Olympic-style beer games—are still available. Buy tickets ($100) online. 6 PM.
Saturday, July 14:

Market Fresh Brunch at Todd Gray’s Muse at the Corcoran Art Gallery: Local Chef Todd Gray’s expertly curated menu has been designed exclusively for the Corcoran. Taking inspiration from the Corcoran Collection and the Gallery’s special exhibitions, and distinguished by seasonal, local ingredients—many sourced from the nearby FreshFarm Market, by the White House—Muse is a unique culinary experience. Gospel Sunday Brunch at The Hamilton (600 14th Street, NW), a landmark building that was originally constructed in 1929 and operated as the flagship store for Garfinckel’s department store until 1990, is now offering a Southern-inspired buffet guaranteed to lift one’s spirits, while enjoying a live gospel show to feed the soul. Available every Sunday, priced all inclusively at $25 per person, two ticketed shows are offered, with doors opening at 10 AM for the first one-hour performance which begins at 10:30 AM. The second seating is from 12:30- 2 PM, which also includes an hour-long gospel performance from 1 -2PM. This Sunday, Howard Gospel Choir will perform at The Hamilton Live for Gospel Brunch.

Hank’s Oyster Bar & Lounge will host its 1st Annual Hula Hank’s Luau on Saturday, August 4th from 11 am – 3 pm. Priced at $75 per person, guests will enjoy unlimited grilled oysters, shrimp, three whole roasted suckling pigs (each weighing twenty-five pounds), and a variety of sides. Additionally, Mikala Brennan from the Hula Girl Truck (www.hulagirltruck.com) will be serving chicken skewers and a pineapple upside-down cake from the truck parked directly outside the restaurant on Q Street, NW. Guests will receive an honorary tiki mug to take home, as well as six drink tickets, which can be redeemed for tiki-themed libations.
