50 Chefs Team Up for Food & Friends 22nd Annual Chef’s Best Dinner & Auction

On Tuesday, June 26, the Washington Hilton (1919 Connecticut Ave. NW,) ballroom will be filled with over 50 of the DC area’s most notable chefs will are generously donate their time and talent to sserve special tastings of their signature dishes at the 22nd Annual Chef’s Best Dinner & Auction in order to raise money for Food & Friends, one of my favorite local non-profits, that provides home-delivered, specialized meals and nutrition counseling to people living with HIV/AIDS, cancer, and other life-challenging illnesses.

The fabulous four of 4Bitten Media, including yours truly, along with Johnna Rowe of Johnna Knows Good Food, Lauren DeSantis of the The Capital Cooking Show, and Mary Kong-DeVito of Girl Meets Food will be at the dinner serving as special Social Media Ambassadors, to provide support and much needed awareness and exposure of Chef’s Best and help to ensure that Food & Friends can continue to meet the needs of our shared community.

Presented by the National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) Foundation, and with the help of Celebrity Chef Chair John Critchley of Urbana Restaurant and Wine Bar, guests will enjoy tastings prepared by some of the region’s top chefs, including: Anthony Lombardo, 1789 Restaurant; Jeff Tunks, District Commons; Alex Zeppos, Logan Tavern; James Huff, Pearl Dive Oyster Palace; Massimo Fabbri, Ristorante Tosca; and RJ Cooper, Rogue 24, among other notables from the D.C. dining scene. In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to bid on various silent and live auction items featuring trips, one-of-a-kind experiences and private dining opportunities.

All proceeds from Chef’s Best will ensure the delivery of specialized meals and personalized nutrition counseling to Food & Friends’ clients living with cancer, HIV/AIDS and other life-challenging illnesses. This year, supporters will help provide more than one million meals to nearly 2,900 individuals in Washington, D.C., Virginia and Maryland.

Tickets to the 22nd Annual Chef’s Best Dinner & Auction presented by the NACDS Foundation are $250 for individuals or $2,250 for a table host and sponsorships begin at $850. The VIP Reception for sponsors begins at 5:30 p.m. Doors open for the main event at 6:30 p.m., with bidding for live auction lots starting around 8:15 p.m.
