Last Tuesday, May 15, 4Bitten Media hosted its official launch party on D.C.’s recently unveiled rooftop at Masa 14. It was an incredibly successful gathering with more than 200 guests consisting mostly of public relations representatives, local bloggers, DC socialites, media, and key restaurant industry players.

The rain that had plagued the area the entire day held off long enough for party-goers to enjoy copper sunsets, warm breezes, delicious cocktails and hearty bites off of the new Masa 14 rooftop menu. Guests enjoyed samples of the vegetarian marinated portobello bao buns, bay scallop ceviche, spicy shrimp flatbread, and the people’s favorite, “The Rising Sun”, a teriyaki-glazed Kobe beef hot dog, all the sipping hand-crafted cocktails like the classic mojito.

Jessica Milby, author of One Classic Wino, a wine enthusiast blog said, “being new to the elitist food blogger scene, it was quite the honor to be invited to the 4Bitten Media launch party. It was the Who’s Who of the social media and blogger communities. Masa 14’s brand spankin’ new rooftop is quite the venue. Sipping on margaritas, I mixed and mingled with fellow DC lovers ranging from PR reps, bloggers, chefs, and more. I met some great contacts and some people who I had been following on twitter for years, just had never actually crossed paths. It was a great turnout of local supporters for the 4 lovely ladies and I was so grateful to be a part of the celebration.”

Unlike a group blog with multiple writers, 4Bitten Media is a collection of independent blogs which have combined efforts to bring the best of DC’s food scene. As you may know, Dining in DC, is part of the 4Bitten Media blog collective, which I co-founded with Mary Kong of Girl Meets Food, Johnna Rowe of Johnna Knows Good Food, and Lauren DeSantis of Capital Cooking Show. Not only is 4Bitten Media the first blog collective of its kind, it is already seeing a huge impact by helping restaurant clients sell out their events, such as the 2nd Annual Lamb Jam, Todd Gray’s Muse Market Brunches at the Corcoran, and Gospel Brunches at the Hamilton.

At the end of the night, guests were treated to swag bags filled with freebies and treats from 4Bitten’s sponsors Masa 14, El Centro, Zengo, Catoctin Creek Distillery, Hill Country, Ris, Ping Pong Dim Sum, Indigo Landing, Matchbox Food Group, Pop Chips and Tweet Sweets and Toute Sweets cookies impeccably printed with the 4Bitten logo.

An extra special thank you to Masa 14 for hosting such a kick-ass event, and to the talented Moshe Zusman Photography Studio, who always makes everyone look their very best! Also thank you to Kate Michael for the coverage and to Bart Kendrick for the photos.
