Tax Day Dining Freebies, Deals, and Discounts

As you know April 15th is normally the day that income taxes are due to the IRS; however, in 2012 tax day falls on a Sunday. The next day, Monday April 16th is a federal holiday — Emancipation Day. So Tuesday, April 17th is TAX DAY! Many DC area restaurants, bars, and services are offering a little relief to us all. Check out my listing below. If I missed any, feel free to comment below.

If you owe this year or waited til the last minute, or both — not to worry! You can still drink for free! On Tuesday, April 17th, 2012 participating ESquared restaurants (BLT Steak, 1625 I Street) will help take the stress out of tax day with ½ off all alcoholic beverages! All cocktails, beer, wines by the glass, and bottles of wine will be sold at 50% off all day long!

Save a couple bucks at any DC area McCormick & Schmick’s with its extended happy hour bar menu including buffalo wings just $2.95 and 1/2 lb cheeseburgers only $3.95! There are 3 DC locations and 4 in Northern Virginia. If you’re stopping by the Tysons Corner location at 8484 Westpark Dr., say hi to Peter, who is the best bartender in town! The bar is serving tax-themed cocktails: The Rummy Refund, The Clear Conscience, The Bloody Mary Tax Code, and the Uncle Sam, all variations on classic cosmopolitans, martinis, margaritas, and Manhattans.

EatBar (2761 Washington Blvd. Arlington, VA; 703-778-9951) is offering drink specials tomorrow evening in honor of Tax Day. Drinks for the 99% include DC Brau’s Corruption IPA for $4 and the Recession Buster cocktail made with Miller High Life, St. Germaine and Lemon for $5. For the 1%, splurge items like EatBar’s house infused bourbon is on special for $11 and a specialty cocktail called the Mutual Fund made with MaCallan 12 yr scotch, Luxardo Marachino Liquer, Vermouth, and Orange will be featured.

Jackson 20 in Old Town, Alexandria will cover sales tax in the restaurant for all patrons. In this gorgeous weather, go for happy hour and enjoy the J20 tavern and courtyard. $5 House Drinks, $2 Working Man canned beers, $5 Craft canned beers, $4 Chardonnay and Cabernet and $5 food items from 4-7pm Monday-Friday. Bar Rouge

Bar Rouge is launching their ½ price wine bottle night on Tax Day, and then it will be a weekly event recurring every Tuesday from here on out. Also, on Wednesday, for any accountants that come into Bar Rouge and drop their business card, they can also get ½ price bottles, in order to celebrate the tax season being over.

Chevy’s Fresh Mex : Check their Facebook page until 4/13 for a free chicken taquitos voucher. Plus, from 4/13-4/17, you can get two premium Herradura margaritas for $10.40. On 4/17, Chevy’s will pick up the tax on your order.

Chili’s: Use this coupon to get a free appetizer or dessert, with the purchase of an entree.

Cinnabon: Enjoy free classic Cinnabon bites from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Hooters : Get 20 boneless wings for $9.99 as a Tax Day Special April 17

MaggieMoo’s: Get a free scoop of ice cream from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at participating locations.

Marble Slab Creamery: “Yogurt Yobate Day!” from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., you can get a free scoop of ice cream at participating stores. Only DC area location is Rockville, MD (100 Gibbs Street Unit I).

Panda Express: Lunch is on the house here, if you “Like” Panda Express on Facebook, then print out the coupon for a free single serving of Shanghai Angus Steak.

For everyone who pulled an all-nighter to prepare returns, Starbucks is doling out free jolts all day as part of their “Great American Coffee Refund” promotion.
