Dining in DC Turns 3!
Today is Dining in DC‘‘s 3rd Blogiversary! I can hardly believe that it’s been three whole years! My very first post ever was June 22, 2007 (before I moved my blog to WordPress) on Blogspot. My very first posting was an informal review of Farrah Olivia that was in Old Town, Alexandria before it closed last year. It just goes to show you how much can happen in one year, let alone three!
Dining in DC has come a long way since 2007 and I have many to thank, including Ashleigh Hill who convinced me to start the blog. I want to thank my husband, Ben who has sacrificed many hours so that I may attend media dinners, write blog posts, or attend food events. I would be remiss not to thank my two children, Alex and Marissa. At four years old, Alex knew that Mamah’s favorite place was a restaurant and that I spent a lot of time in them … but he doesn’t know why. Not yet … one day he will and I’d like to think that he would be proud of me — proud because I am living my dream.
I’d also like to thank my dear friend, Natalie Lambert, Founder of Savoir Faire Media. Her marketing, graphics, and media work for Dining in DC has made such a huge impact. Her professionalism, support, and ability to put up with my crap is invaluable. Natalie, Thank you for all that you do for me. You are truly an Arteest! I’d also like to thank Lindsay Silverstein, for all of her support and her great photography.
I’d also like to thank all of my fellow food bloggers, who keep me going, keep it interesting, and remind me why we are so passionate about what we do.
And of course, I’d like to thank ALL of my Readers, like YOU!! Without you there would be blog. Ok … well that’s not true. I’d still eat. I’d still blog … but it wouldn’t be as meaningful to me without all of you. I thank you.
In the next couple of days, I will be announcing some special promotions and give-a-ways to celebrate Dining in DC’s blogiversary, so stay tuned.
